From note with photograph - Jonathan David Pratt, Roseville's second merchant, arrived in Roseville in 1869. His store, on the corner of Pacific and Atlantic Streets housed the Oddfellows Lodge and later Roseville's first paper, The Roseville Register.

From note with photograph - Walter Frederick Fiddyment settled in Roseville when he was six years old and remained here for the rest of his life. Although he spent most of his life in farming, he later entered the merchandising business, erecting the Fiddyment Block on Vernon Street in Roseville, California.
